Earth Water Consulting is a CEnvP certified contaminated land consultant able to report to the NSW EPA, and deal with accredited contaminated land site auditors (including for Contaminated Land Act regulated sites).We investigate, assess and manage contaminated land, undertaking Preliminary ESAs (PSI/PESA), Detailed ESAs (DSI/DESA), remedial designs, validation reports, and ongoing site management plans, preparing all required documentation and reports for local councils and the NSW EPA.

Acid Sulfate Soil Assessments & Remediation
Earth Water Consulting provides Acid Sulfate Soil (ASS) assessment and remediation services in NSW, from initial risk screening through to validation certification. Our work includes reviewing ASS risk maps, planning controls and site disturbance history, then carrying out targeted field sampling and screening, followed by laboratory testing to confirm the amount of ASS present. We prepare DA‑ready reports that clearly explain risks, likely impacts if soils are disturbed, and whether acid sulfate soil management is required. Where needed, we develop detailed management and treatment plans, while working closely with the owner or developer to oversee implementation and set up soil and water monitoring programs to demonstrate compliance.

Geotechincal Site Classification
Earth Water Consulting carries out soil testing and site investigations (borings, sampling, penetrometer and SPT tests, laboratory test interpretation) to determine soil type, reactivity and bearing capacity. We classify sites to AS2870, and explain implications for footing/slab design and potential ground movement or problem conditions (fill, landslip, subsidence, highly reactive clays). We prepare council-compliant site/lot classification reports that support DAs, building approvals and structural design, often including foundation recommendations. Where needed, EWC extends services into broader geotechnical investigations, providing guidance on excavation conditions, retaining walls, slope stability, drainage and any required remediation or ground improvement.

Stormwater Management
EWC works as part of a development team to assess how developments will impact on stormwater generation so as to protect people, property, and downstream environments. We undertake permeability testing and Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) modelling. We can prepare technical plans and reports to support DAs and CCs. Furthermore we are able to monitor performance and recommend improvements over time so systems stay compliant and minimise flooding, pollution, and drainage issues.

EWC can design and implement sampling programs to test raw water against drinking water, livestock or irrigation water guidelines. We arrange for accredited laboratory analysis for parameters such as microbiological contamination, nutrients, metals, salinity and pH, and then interpret the results and explain the risks in plain language. We provide written reports with clear recommendations on treatment, system upgrades or management changes needed to make the water fit for it's intended use. We can also set up ongoing monitoring programs to track future changes in water quality over time to help you stay compliant with health and environmental requirements.
